Karen Peirens

Karen was present when the Congaz idea was born. For some time now she has been observing the sparkling and she has now decided to join.

She handles challenging and complex issues in an open minded way and with focus on detail, thereby trying to reconciliate different points of view. What is at stake? What is relevant and what is not? She is direct, sharp and sometimes uses an unexpected approach, but always with a smile.

She furthermore looks for ways to act upon those insights. Which actions are necessary? Practical and easy to implement. She’s a guide on the path to achieve performance: what is the goal? The strategy? Is there alignment of interests?

Her large field of interest is an important asset. She has experiences in different organisations and knows how important it is that each team, department or division clearly understands how to contribute to the realization of the common mission.

She started her career as trainer and researcher in occupational health and safety and from the beginning she was convinced of the importance of the “people” focus in for instance psychosocial issues at the workplace. Her career move to HR consulting was a logical step. She facilitated change projects (mission/vision/strategy/leadership/culture) with management teams in the food industry, energy, software and retail. The “fil rouge” is connecting / aligning people, teams and organisations with their common vision and strategy.
Karen understands the importance of new ideas, creative insights and new approaches.
Through Congaz, she now wants to give her assignment an extra innovative dimension.

Karen joined Lara in a program on leadership, creativity and innovation (New York State University, Buffalo) and the CREA conference in Italy. She’s a certified systemic coach.
